Apple eliminates Wordle clones from App Store

Apple, the world-famous brand has removed the most lovable game Wordle from the app store. Apple app store no longer has this app.

Apple has verified that many imitation versions of the massively popular word game Wordle have been deleted from the App Store.

However, other similar-looking games were discovered to be still accessible. For the past five years, a separate game with the same name has been available on the market. There were two Wordle games on Google Play, the equivalent for Android phones, but none was identical.

The name is not thought to be trademarked, nor is the design protected by copyright.

Every day, Wordle publishes a new puzzle that challenges players to discover a five-letter word in six guesses. It is accessible via a free website, however, there is no smartphone app.
