The Arctic has been experiencing the highest level of temperatures which is 38°C (100F) – it has been officially informed saying “alarm bells” over Earth’s changing climate. On Tuesday, the report was confirmed by The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and also states reported in the Siberian town of Verkhoyansk on 20 June last year.
It is noted that the temperature was around 18°C higher than the area’s average daily maximum for June. Moreover, for the first time, it is happening that the World Meteorological Organization has incorporated the Arctic Circle in its archive of extreme weather reports.
The UN agency stated that the 38C temperature was accounted for at a meteorological station during “an extraordinary and delayed Siberian heatwave” which it said was “more befitting the Mediterranean than the Arctic”.
WMO added that The high temperatures across Siberia prompted “huge ocean ice misfortune” and assumed a significant part in 2020 being one of the three hottest years on record.
