According to AAP leader and chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal his party will be contesting elections in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections which will be held in 2022. In a virtual press conference held on 15 December with media Arvind Kejriwal tapped his back on AAP forming government thrice in a raw in national capital and has also reserved its position as main opposition party in past eight years
During the Delhi election held earlier this year AAP was successful in winning a massive total of 62 seats out of 70 whereas 8 were secured by BJP. Giving them confidence about expending in other states in democratic India. Arvind Kejriwal appeared to be pitching at providing world class hospital facilities as well as education facilities. He said Mohalla clinics, free electricity, water will also be provided in the state
The Delhi government will try to seek votes on the “Delhi model of governance” there main focus will be at convincing votes about how their model of governance is better than the governance of the present government. In the same press conference the chief minister said “Uttar Pradesh has been ruled by several parties but none of them worked for public. Why do people of Uttar Pradesh have to come to Delhi for basic amenities like education and healthcare?” He was also seen calling out at government of UP saying that the reason of Uttar Pradesh holding back from progress and development is of “dirty politics” and ‘corrupt’ politicians in the state. The Delhi CM Expressed his positive intentions towards people of the state and is firm about proving that governance is not restricted by resources
UP in-charge and also a Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in an interview said as a party there first step will be the Zila Panchayat polls. “we have an organizational structure in all 75 districts in the state and we already have district and zila committees and are in process of creating booth level committees in all districts”
However, there is another side to the story to story. The road to forming government in Uttar Pradesh will not be an cake walk for AAP. Kejriwal’s attempts at expanding AAP’s base outside Delhi like Goa, Punjab or at national level have not meet the desired result yet and there attempt at expending in India’s most populous state is seen may be as a little over- ambitious by the experts of the field
Uttar Pradesh already witness contest between multiple parties. While currently BJP is in government with Yogi Aditya Nath as chief minister other parties like Bahujan Samaj Party under the leadership of Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party and congress are very prominent in politics of Uttar Pradesh
2022 will be a big year for AAP as party has already committed to contest elections in Uttarakhand, Punjab and Goa along with municipal corporation polls in Delhi hence Arvind Kejriwal and his party has a lot to look forward to.
