Netflix science fiction series “Away” has gained massive popularity because of this mind bewitching storyline. The series debuted on September 4, 2020, and left us impatiently waiting for the second instalment. But is Away Season 2 happening?
Created by Andrew Hinderaker “Away” is a Netflix originals science fiction series that has completely blown our minds. The audience was blown away by the awesome concept and creativity of the series.
Dropping on September 4, 2020, the series attracted millions of viewers worldwide becoming one of the best sci-fi Netflix series of 2020. Therefore the anticipation for another series increased among the fans.
So when can we expect a new season of “Away”? Well, we have a piece of bad news here. Netflix has decided not to renew the series for another season and has officially cancelled it. Although the OTT giant has not revealed any specific reason for the cancellation of the series close sources have confirmed that the production of the series needed too much expense.
Netflix at least had to spend $6 million per episode which is indeed very costly and hence it decided not to move forward with the series.
Science fictions have always been interesting and especially when it is something like Away. We all have had interests in finding life in outer space at some point in our lives!
So this series talks about a crew of space researchers led by Emma Green who is on their way to find life on Mars. But the mission does not look as simple as it sounds especially for our protagonist.
Because she was a replacement for her husband as he was not healthy enough to go on the mission. All the crew members were unsure of her ability. But we saw that Emma proved everyone wrong and reached mars safe and sound with all the members. But the fact that the first season actually ended there without showing us what the members found on mars was disheartening.
Because we wanted to witness what they discovered inside the planet. But since the series has been cancelled we need to digest the cliffhanger!
