The owner of the infamous Baba Ka Dhaba Kanta Prasad attempted to take his own life on the night of June 17, 2021. He is currently admitted to Safdarjung hospital.
On the night of June 17, 2021, Kanta Prasad attempted to take his own life by overdosing on alcohol with sleeping pills. It took place at their residence in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi.
Luckily he was found unconscious by his wife and son and was taken to the hospital. After that, his son informed the police about the incident on the same night.
The 81-year-old eatery owner has been surrounded with controversy since last year. Also, a new restaurant which he opened after getting famous was shut down and he had to come back to his old eatery ‘Baba Ka Dhaba.’
These are suspected to be the prime reasons behind his attempt.
Kanta Prasad created controversy when he accused the Youtuber Gaurav Wasan who made him famous of money laundering. He had filed an FIR against Wasan stating that he has taken the donation money which Kanta had received.
Wasan has always stated his innocent. It was this year when Kanta had his newly opened restaurant shut down after a massive loss and came back to the old place he publically apologised to Wasan.
Even Wasan visited Kanta and his wife and said that he holds no grudges against them. But despite that Kanta Prasad was trolled on social media and that might have affected his mental health.
This might be another reason behind his suicide attempt.
