Cardiff is going to host the most famous BBC Radio 6 Music Festival 2022. Little Simz, Father John Misty, and the Pixies are among the acts booked to perform at the “super-charged” BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, which will return in 2022.
The event will take place from 1-3 April at venues around the Welsh capital, following a two-year hiatus due to the Covid epidemic.
St David’s Hall, Cardiff University Students’ Union, and Tramshed will all have live performances. Tickets go on sale on February 17th.
Welsh artists Gruff Rhys and Gwenno, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and BBC Radio 6 journalist Cerys Matthews are also on the bill.
Huw Stephens, a Radio 6 broadcaster from Cardiff, said: “The 6 Music Festival is coming to Cardiff, which is fantastic news.
“We adore live music in Cardiff; gigs and club nights are a big part of what makes the city unique, and it’s in our DNA.
“We also adore BBC Radio 6 Music, and having this fantastic festival here at such a vital moment in the resurgence of live music venues is extremely exciting.”
