Lieutenant General Chandi Prasad Mohanty, who took over as the Vice Chief of the Indian Army on Monday, brings with him a recent experience of strategizing against the Chinese aggression.
Chandi Prasad Mohanty has commanded the Trishakti Corps immediately after Doklam standoff. The 33 Corps based in Sukma takes care of deployment in Sikkim.
From last 39 years he is serving the country and the officer commanded a battalion on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and later in the North East.
On 31 jan 2021 he takes over the responsibility Vice Chief of the Army Staff from Lt Gen SK Saini, Lt Gen SK Saini has given four decades to this country.
