The hit show Cheer premiered in the beginning of 2020 on the streaming platform, Netflix. Nobody knew the level of excitement and uproar this show will cause. The show has trended on social media and on the OTT platform.
It is a docu-series that follows the real story of the 40-member Navarro College Bulldogs Cheer Team from Corsicana, Texas. The pyramid of cheerleaders has grown tall and wide. People have been anticipating if the show will make a comeback with another season. They loved the drama and the stunts performed by the students in the series.
The people featured in the series —Morgan Simianer, La’Darius Marshall, Gabi Butler, Jerry Harris, Lexi Brumback, and others—are being invited to numerous talk shows and are submerged in the success they achieved from the series.
Rules changed after Cheer
The code of conduct and other rules have been modified by the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) and the National Dance Alliance (NDA) in order to “prevent teams from getting a let up” by making an appearance in media, such as documentaries. “Teams may jeopardize their eligibility to compete in the NCA & NDA Collegiate and Dance Championship if they participate in a televised program or print media that portrays their team, school or general activity of collegiate cheer and/or dance in a negative manner,” the rules stated. Apparently, these regulations were altered when the series Cheer premiered on Netflix.
We don’t know for sure if the cast of the series has any knowledge about any upcoming season. They changed the topic when they were asked if any cameras were following them for another season.

As we see the onset of upcoming tournaments and championships, we might see new seasons. The regular practise and hard work make them super ready for such competitions.
Another show Last Chance U followed different football teams in the four seasons of the docu-series, so we may never know if the same could happen for this series. Till then, watch the series if you haven’t seen it yet and get an insight into the life of cheerleaders in high school.
