Dagny Carlsson, labelled the world’s oldest blogger, died, according to Swedish media and her fan page. Dagny Carlsson blogged about her life in Sweden based on the philosophy that you should never think you are too old to achieve what you want to do. She lived to be 109 years old.
Dagny Carlsson took a computer course at the age of 99, and a year later, she began a blog under the name Bojan. Elena Ström, a friend of hers, told the Expressen daily that they had been “inseparable” since she enrolled in one of her computer classes in 2011.
Carlsson has tens of thousands of followers and is featured on Swedish television and radio programmes on a regular basis. She visited with King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and his wife Queen Silvia at the royal residence in Stockholm in March 2018. The Swedish royals paid tribute to her after her passing on Thursday by publishing a snapshot of their encounter on Instagram.
Carlsson characterised herself on her blog as “a tough aunt who enjoys most things,” “a little direct,” and “a sense of humour.” She shared selfies and stated that she had “always been fascinated.”
