First death notified in the UK due to Omicron variant

The prime minister of the UK stated that one person has lost his life because of the Omicron coronavirus variant. Boris Johnson also added that due to the new variant the hospitals are again getting occupied. 

Moreover, Sajid Javid who is Health Secretary added that currently, around 20% of cases are available of Omicron in England.

Mr. Johnson recommended people to recognize “the sheer rate at which [Omicron] accelerates across the population” and abandon the notion that Omicron is a gentler variation.

More than half a million individuals had signed up for the booster shot on Monday, which the prime minister characterized as an “amazing accomplishment.”

Data released recently states that on Monday around  54,661 new coronavirus cases were detected, also within 38 days around 38 people lost their lives.
