The extremely contagious Omicron variety has caused an increase in infections, although the number of Covid patients in critical care has been declining since early January, and now stands at roughly 3,850 persons.

According to studies, Omicron is less harmful than other virus varieties, giving officials hope that they may be able to relax social separation and face mask laws for communities anxious for a return to normalcy.
