According to government spokesperson Gabriel Attal, France Prime Minister Jean Castex will lay out a timeline for gradually easing Covid-19 limitations and limits in the next months on Thursday.
Castex and Health Minister Olivier Veran will set out the calendar during a news conference following a cabinet discussion on the health crisis, with France registering an average of roughly 310,000 daily cases over the previous week.
On Tuesday, France set a new 24-hour record with 464,769 new cases.
The extremely contagious Omicron variety has caused an increase in infections, although the number of Covid patients in critical care has been declining since early January, and now stands at roughly 3,850 persons.
According to studies, Omicron is less harmful than other virus varieties, giving officials hope that they may be able to relax social separation and face mask laws for communities anxious for a return to normalcy.
