German navy chief resigns his position

The leader of the German navy chief has resigned as a result of inflammatory remarks he made about Ukraine.

According to Kay-Achim Schönbach, the assumption that Russia wants to invade Ukraine is ridiculous. He went on to say that all President Vladimir Putin desired was respected.

A number of nations, notably the United States and the United Kingdom, have given weaponry to Ukraine. However, Germany has turned down Ukraine’s request for munitions.

Russia has denied that it intends to attack Ukraine.

However, President Putin has made demands to the West about Russia’s security, notably that Ukraine is barred from joining the military defense alliance Nato.

German navy chief also wants Nato to suspend military drills and arms deliveries to Eastern Europe, which he sees as a direct danger to Russia’s security.
