Gujarat government announces a relief fund of 105 crore for the fisherman hit by Cyclone Tauktae. The fisherman of the state has faced severe damage in the state’s coastal belt last month.
The Gujarat government announced the fund relief package on Wednesday. The Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani took the decision and announced on Tuesday evening after the meeting.
On May 17 night, the Cyclone Tauktea hits the state very badly and the speed of the wind was almost 220 kmph. The main damage was caused to anchored boats, fishing nets, trawlers and marine infrastructure at Jafrabad, Rajula, Saiyad Rajpara, Shiyal Bet and Nava Bandar ports of the state, the release said, adding that houses of fishermen were also damaged in the cyclone.
The Gujarat gpvernment would pay 25 crore to the fisherman tp compensate the damage done by the Cyclone Tauktae. The amount of 25 crore would be distributed among all fisherman having small and large boats.
The official reports says the small size boats which were totally damaged, the government is going to pay 50% money of the boat, which is around 75,000.
