hellbound premise
Hellbound’s dark fantasy narrative sparked the interest of many. Drama K combines the notions of hell, religion, and the damned, and is adapted into a webtoon of the same name by Yeon Sang-Ho. People in this drama are told that they will die and when that will happen. When time runs out, supernatural beings appear on Earth to drag people to hell.
Hellbound’s narrative also includes the rise of a new religion known as Saejinrihwe. The religious leader describes a new phenomenon in which angels of death emerge from hell to proclaim God’s revelations. Religion gains momentum when the city is confronted with a new reality.
A network TV producer investigates the emerging religious movement, while a lawyer defends his devoted adherents. A police detective is also involved in drama K’s investigations into these new angels of death.
