Maharashtra government sets up task force for children orphaned by COVID-19

Maharashtra government is supposed to form a group to protect children orphaned by Covid-19. The government is going to create the task force tram in every district of Maharashtra says government officials on Monday.

According to the reports released by Maharashtra government the Collectors would be guiding the task force team and the team will include police chiefs, rural health officials, commissioners of civic bodies etc from the district.

Yashomati Thakur, the Minister of Maharashtra Women and Child Development says that getting child orphaned because of Covid-19 has become a major social issue. She also asked the government to take care of the children in terms of their protection as well as their education.

HC seeks response of Centre on PILs to protect children orphaned due to COVID: CHILDREN orphaned due to COVID-19 should be protected and guarded against being trafficked till they are legally adopted, two PILs have urged the Delhi High Court, which sought the response of the Centre and the Delhi Government on the issue.
