The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee is still not ready to take responsibility for the post-poll violence which erupted in the state.
The recent violence in West Bengal during and after the election is not unknown to any. After TMC’s win in the assembly elections, the entire state of West Bengal faced a series of violence.
There were cases of property vandalization, attacks on BJP workers, sexual assaults on women and much more. The Calcutta High Court has recently accused the Mamta Banerjee government of complete hypocrisy.
According to the statement by HC, the WB government is reluctant to admit the fact that they were responsible for all the violent activities which took place in the state.
Despite Banerjee and her government is in complete denial mode on the violence, the HC has called for strict action. The judges” panel have decided that there will be strict action against everyone responsible for the violence.
The recent orders by HC have mentioned that the WB government should look into the matter strictly. Also, the government has been directed to bear the expenses of the treatment of those who were injured in the brutal attacks.
The attacks are still going on in many places of Bengal. If things go out of hand, there are chances that President’s rule might be imposed in the state.
