Marmite maker Unilever has revealed that it would slash about 1,500 employees globally as part of management and structural revamp.
The Marmite-to-Domestos company stated that the 5% personnel reduction would not affect factory shopfloor positions.
Marmite maker Unilever is under fire following a failed £50 billion offer for a GlaxoSmithKline company, and some shareholders have requested reforms.
In the UK and Ireland, the company employs around 6,000 employees. For several months, plans for employee layoffs and reorganization have been in the works.
The new Unilever will be restructured around five businesses, including beauty, personal care, and ice cream, resulting in multiple top executive changes as well as reductions farther down the management chain.
