Mehbooba Mufti has recently claimed that she has once again been detained at her Srinagar home.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir has posted multiple tweets with proofs of being detained at her residence. Mehbooba tweeted that she has been locked inside her own residence and hence is not being allowed to go anywhere. And no one is allowed to visit her as well.
She posted multiple videos showing how she has been locked inside and nobody is opening the gate. Mehbooba said that the government has been detaining her for quite sometimes now just because she has been standing in solidarity with the people of her state.
Mehbooba said that she is not being allowed to visit the people in Budgam who are being evicted from their land.
Mehbooba Mufti depicted how the people of Kashmir have been suffering because of the decisions taken by the government. Mufti added that the government has always been oppressing and torturing the Kashmiris.
And now when she wants to stand in solidarity with her people they have detained her as well. She also added that this was not the first time that something like this has happened.
She said that she was detained several times in the past when she wanted to do something for her people which was against the government’s wills. This all started when Mufti raised her voice against the abrogation of Article 370 calling the step absolutely unconstitutional and cruel.
She added that people in Budgam are being forced to leave their lands and her visit to the place is the need of the hour.
