Prince Andrew’s Twitter account has been deactivated, only days after the Queen stripped him of his honorary military titles and charitable organizations.
Visitors to Prince Andrew‘s official Twitter profile, @TheDukeofYork, which was previously tagged in tweets by the official royal family Twitter handle, are now greeted with a blank page and the phrase “this account does not exist.”
According to PA Media, the page’s bio used to say “The Official Twitter Account for The Duke of York,” and his personal tweets were signed off with “AY.” According to PA Media, an account on YouTube is likewise no longer available.
Buckingham Palace has also modified its official website to reflect the royal family’s efforts to distance itself from the Duke of York, who is facing a civil sexual assault prosecution in the United States.
