President elect Joe Biden has named Indian-American Sameera Fazili as the new Deputy Director of National Economic Council.
Joe Biden has appointed Indian Origin Sameera Fazili as the Deputy Director Of National Economic Council of United States. The announcement was made on January 15, 2021.
Coming from a Kashmiri descent Fazili was currently serving as the Director of Engagement for Community and Economic development at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
As the Deputy Director of National Economic Council Fazili will be closely working in making economic decisions for the country and will also act as an adviser for the Biden government in order to develop the economy of the nation.
Fazili started her career as a clinical lecturer at the Yale Law School Community and economy clinic. After that she started working in the finance sector in places like ShoreBank.
During Barack Obama’s tenure as the President of US she was an integral part of the cabinet as she severed as the policy advisor as the US Treasury Department.
Therefore with a vast experience in the finance sector, she is indeed a great choice to be the Deputy Director of National Economic Council. And that too at the crucial time when the United States really needs an economic boost after the pandemic outbreak and its impact on the economy.
