South African president initiates vaccine manufacturing plant

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has inaugurated a new vaccine production facility, which he claims would increase the country’s capacity to produce its own vaccines for illnesses such as COVID-19.

The Cape Town factory, a collaboration between a biotechnology corporation located in the United States, the government, and South African institutions, would assist boost Africa’s ability to produce vaccines, Ramaphosa said on Wednesday.

“The pandemic has highlighted vast discrepancies in access to excellent healthcare, medications, diagnostics, and vaccinations that exist within and across countries,” Ramaphosa added.

According to him, Africa is reacting to COVID-19 with a “depth of scientific knowledge, competence, and ability” to produce its own vaccines. the step taken by South African President is going to be very beneficial for the public of the region.
