Sri Lanka bans travellers from India

Sri Lanka announced on thursday that the travellers from India will not be able to enter due to the increase of covid-19 cases in India. Along with this country many other countries like UAE, Singapore, UK, Australia have also said that they will not allow passengers from India to enter in their country.

The Director General Civil aviation in a letter to the CEO of the national carrier Srilankan Airlines has said, “in accordance with instructions received from health authorities of the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, it is hereby directed that passengers travelling from India will not be permitted to disembark in Sri Lanka with immediate effect.”

Sri Lanka is also experiencing the crisis of covid- 19. In last 5 days they have recorded around 2000 new Covid-19 cases. The health authority of the country said that this wave of Covid-19 is very strong and it takes very less time to spread.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has asked all the Sri Lanka migrant workers to come to back to their country and also asked to take proper precautions.
