Trump campaigns in Republican led states, anxious to recover polls

Donald Trump, President of USA, attempted to get back in the game to recuperate the plummeting election polls via campaigning for the right wing of the country, taking rallies at Florida and Georgia. He claimed that his opponent Joe Biden would bring communism and a “flood” of criminal immigrants.

He also gave the impression that he was conceding to the fact that things might not be in his favour in the end. “Running against the worst candidate in the history of presidential politics puts pressure on me. Could you imagine if I lose?” Trump cogitated.

“What am I gonna do?” he continued. “I’m not gonna feel so good. Maybe I’ll have to leave the country. I don’t know.”

While he joked around and mused, the fact that he was rallying at the two southern states where he won clearly in the last election was proof that he was adamant to cover up for Biden’s lead as the election inches closer. With the increasing COVID-19 cases and the descending polls, Trump is aiming for his core Republican base hoping that his followers will be present in large numbers.

He said, “Democrats have nothing but disdain for your values” and “want to turn America into a communist country” — a replay of his positive 2016 message tapping into white, working-class resentment.

“It’s time we sent a message to these wealthy liberal hypocrites,” he told the cheering crowd in Macon, Georgia on Friday night.

Trump also made racial comments on Latin American migrants, saying that Democrats will “flood your communities with illegal aliens, drugs, crime.”

Biden Campaigns

While on the other hand, Biden was campaigning in Michigan where he frayed into Trump’s management of the coronavirus — the stoutest matter of his campaign.

“He keeps telling us that this virus is going to disappear like a miracle,” Biden said. “My lord! It’s not disappearing, in fact it’s on the rise again, it’s getting worse, as predicted,” Biden said.

He also highlighted another issue where Trump has been caught in the regular controversy — his often-jaded responses when asked to censure extreme right-wing groups and white supremacists.

Although, Biden campaign director Jen O’Malley Dillon cautioned that the national polls particularly were misleading.

“We are not ahead by double digits,” she said. “Those are inflated national public polling numbers.”

Biden will be aided will be having the final debate next Thursday.

They had been arranged to hold one this Thursday but Trump changed his mind after it altered to a virtual debate due to his Covid-19 infection.
