The captain of the Indian cricket team Virat Kohli has recently opened up on his views about the ongoing farmers protest.
Virat Kohli Urges The Farmers And Government To Make Peace
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has recently expressed his views on the farmers’ protest in his recent tweet. The ongoing farmers’ protests have been getting global attention for quite long.
Recently popstar Rihanna and environmental activist Greta Thunberg have extended their solidarity for the farmers. But their tweets in support of the farmers have been perceived as a propaganda to spread hate in India by many.
Thus Bollywood celebrities and cricketers including Virat Kohli have started a Twitter storm to ask people to stay away from this propaganda. In his tweet Kohli has stated that the people of India need to stay united in this hour of crisis, He urged people not to fall into false propaganda.
He also added that the farmers’ crisis is an important factor and the government as well as the farmers need to come to a mutual decision peacefully. He said that peace is the primary need of this hour. He also said that this topic has also been a matter of discussion during the official meeting of team India.
Celebrities Being Termed As Governments’ Pet
Celebrities and cricketers like Ajay Devgan, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty etc started a Twitter storm after Rihanna and Greta supported the farmers.
The Twitter storm was apparently started to warn people to not fall for false propaganda to ruin the peace and harmony of the nation. But these personalities are being slammed for their hypocrisy as their tweets show that they are not standing in solidarity with the farmers.
And the reason behind that can be the fact that they cannot speak anything against the government for their personal benefits. As for now except Virat Kohli, the other celebrities have refrained from commenting directly on their recent tweet against false propaganda.
But one this is for sure that making these celebrities replying to an international icon like Rihanna’s tweet was not at all done. Because everyone has their right to extend their support or raise their voice on something which they think it is important for them.
